On October 18th, I'll be joining approximately 3,500 other Southern California walkers on the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day. We'll walk 60 miles over three days, from Santa Barbara to Malibu, to raise money for the cause. That's 20 miles a day, sleeping in tents and using porta-johns along the way!

Why? I am a daughter, granddaughter, sister-in-law, cousin, friend, co-worker and acquaintance of breast cancer survivors and a couple of non-survivors, and have survived my own battle with colorectal cancer. I am the mother of a teen-aged daughter. I am committed to doing whatever I can to help stop this disease.
